THE LIFE OF CHRIST - EARLY JUDEAN MINISTRY

Jesus Visits Jerusalem

-John 2:12-25

-After the marriage in Cana, Jesus went to Capernaum with His family and disciples.

-Capernaum later became a very important location for Jesus during His Galilean ministry.

-The Passover was approaching, so Jesus traveled to Jerusalem.  This would be His first visit to

Jerusalem since He began His ministry.

-Jesus went to the temple and drove out the moneychangers.  This caused the disciples to remember

what had been written aforetime (Ps 69:9).

-It seems that the Jews were asking, “What right/authority do you have to do this?” and asked for

 a sign.

-Jesus then foretold of His death, burial and resurrection.  However, the people didn’t

             understand.

-Later, at the time of His resurrection, the disciples remembered these words of Jesus.

-While here in Jerusalem at this time, Jesus performed miracles.  As a result, many initially believed.

However, Jesus knew the nature of their faith and the condition of their hearts.  Unfortunately, many

would be attracted to Jesus due to the miracles but would not have a lasting faith.
