Satan - Introduction

Introduction

-We spend much time with sermons and bible studies trying to learn more and more about God’s

  word.  And, we should.

            -By studying the word we can become more knowledgeable of God’s will for us.

            -By applying God’s word to our lives, we can become stronger as Christians and be more

        pleasing to Him.

-We understand that this world is a very complex system with trials and temptations.  However, we

  must always remember that God is in control and we must put our full faith and trust in Him and

  obey Him. 

            -But, have you ever known somebody who has stumbled across hard times and has had to face

  some very difficult situations and somewhere along the way began to question, doubt or blame

  God?

-You see, sometimes we fail to remember the other side of the equation.  We forget that there is a

  very evil and sinful influence within the world as well – the devil.

            -Because of Satan, sin entered into the world and has remained ever since.  Because of sin there

              has been and will continue to be unpleasant consequences to endure in this world.

            -And, there will be trials and temptations to overcome.

                        -But, through faith, trust and obedience to God we can overcome and share in a victory that

  has been promised to us.  (1 Cor 15:55-58)

                        -Satan wants us to be overcome with sin and to lose in the end.

-With these things being said, I think it is important to do a study on Satan.

            -In this world, enemies observe and study one another in an attempt to learn more, prepare and

        protect against.  We must do the same when it comes to Satan.

            -Remember, He is a formidable opponent.

-God has provided us with information regarding the opponent and has provided us with all we need

  to overcome him. 

-So, let’s study God’s word and see what we can learn of our enemy
